By Payal Mehta New Delhi (India), December 6: Today, an all-party meeting was held in the Parliament building, chaired by Defence Minister and deputy leader of the Lok Sabha Rajnath Singh, MOS Parliamentary affairs, Muralidharan, and Arjun Ram Meghwal, along with house leader Piyush Goyal, on behalf of the government.Top opposition figures included Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from the Congress, Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Derek OBrien from TMC, Tiruchi Shiva and TR Baalu from the DMK, Vandana Chavan from the National Conference, Dr Farooq Abdullah from the National Conference, and Binoy Viswam from the CPI were some of the leaders present in todays meeting.Both Congress and TMC addressed the issue of rising Parties also demanded that more time be granted to the Opposition and that their voices not be muzzled.The Biju Janata Dal stressed the importance of having a discussion on the Women Reservation Bill.

On topics such as the collegium system, there shouldn't be a distinction between the judiciary and the executive; this was a new challenge from the BJD, which wanted a broad discussion on the subject.The YSR Congress, led by Eknath Shinde, also demanded that the government consider and pass a bill to regulate the population, which is a big problem for a country like India.In the meeting, Shiv Sena chief Hemant Patil recommended that the government take steps to eliminate the drug supply and consumption epidemic.Badal said that the committee must come to a conclusion and provide MSP to farmers as promised by the Central government.

Several opposition parties, including the Congress party, said that considering the festival season before announcing the session dates was critical.Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the president of the Congress Lok Sabha, said, We must remember the opinions of our Christian Brothers and sisters as we celebrate Hindu and Muslim festivals.Minister of Finance Prahlad Joshi said in response to the same Parliamentary Affairs Minister, We have taken into consideration the forthcoming Christmas Festival dates before announcing the session dates, and because it is a weekend, Parliament will not be operational.The Winter Session of Parliament will begin on December 7 and end on December 29.
