DEHRADUN (Dehradun) — The facility for tele-consultation with doctors of the Government Doon Medical College and Hospital, which was set to open on July 25, has yet to be operationalized.They are also in the testing phase, according to hospital officials.Medical colleges in Dehradun, Haldwani, Almora, and Srinagar announced last month that they would establish a tele-consultation center to make healthcare more accessible to people in the state's remote corners.This network is projected to include over 400 primary and community health clinics from all 13 Uttarakhand districts.

Last month, the Doon hospital facility, which would cover 100 PHCs and CHCs of Garhwal in the districts Tehri, Uttarkashi, Haridwar, and Dehradun, was scheduled to open but would take another ten days before being operational.Eleven of our departments have signed up to the program and will have regular morning OPD hours.The system has been implemented in almost all cases and mock calls have been made.We will make it available to the public in the near future, said nodal officer for tele-consultation Dr. Sushil Ojha.

Uttarakhand will become the 14th state to open the facility once it opens, officials said.
