New Delhi, India, December 13: On December 12, India and Poland held their 10th round of Foreign Office Consultations in Warsaw.During the meeting, the two countries discussed regional and international issues, including developments in the Indo-Pacific, Indias neighbourhood, the Ukraine crisis, cooperation in multilateral forums, including the United Nations Security Council, and the importance of trade and investment links.According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the bilateral trade between India and Poland has risen steadily in recent years, reaching USD 4.3 billion in 2021.At the summit, India and Poland identified agriculture, food processing, information technology, and green transition as areas of concern for further strengthening bilateral relations, according to the MEA.
The Polish side was dominated by Marcin Przydacz, Under Secretary of State for Peace, the Americas, Asia, and European Policy in Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.India and Poland also signed a deal on earnest employment by family members of diplomatic missions and posts.India and Poland have long-standing bilateral relations and have historically close contacts, according to the Ministry of External Affairs in a press release.The consultations were an opportunity to examine the overall bilateral cooperation agenda for various industries. On their Independence Day, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar expressed congratulations to the government and the Polish people.In a tweet, Jaishankar expressed hope that the historic relationship between the two countries would continue to develop.Dr. S Jaishankar tweeted on Independence Day, greetings to FM @RauZbigniew and the Polish Government and the people.We're confident that our old friendship will continue to flourish. Following Russia's offensive on February 24, the Indian government launched Operation Ganga, an evacuation program to evacuate Indian nationals from Ukraine.
