BIRMINGHAM, On Friday, India's mens fours team made it to the final of the Commonwealth Games, guaranteeing their second medal from the lawn bowl competition.After the quartet of Lovely Choubey (lead), Pinki (second), Nayanmoni Saikia (third), and Rupa Rani Tirkey (slip) defeated South Africa 17-10 in the womens fours final on Tuesday, it was the mens team to follow their female counterparts.In the semifinal, the mens quartet of Sunil Bahadur (lead), Navneet Singh (second), Chandan Kumar Singh (third), and Dinesh Kumar (skip) defeated hosts England by a close 13-12 margin to guarantee India at least a silver medal.After going down in the quarterfinals, the women's pair of Lovely Choubey and Nayanmoni Saikai were knocked out of the Games earlier today.

On two occasions, Choubey and Saikai led, first 5-2 after four rounds and then 8-6 after the finals.However, they squandered an early advantage, allowing the English pair of Tolchard (lead) and Pharoah (skip) to make a dramatic return.After the 10th round, England went ahead and maintained their lead, winning the tournament.
