Indian Army assists a pregnant woman in need in a J-K village

Indian Army carried out an emergency evacuation of a two-month pregnant lady from Sumwali village near the Line of Control (LoC) The woman was having severe abdominal pain and was in distress .

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) India (November 25, 2015: The Indian Army carried out an emergency evacuation of a two-month pregnant lady from Sumwali village near the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday, according to an Army statement.Locals called and urged the authorities for medical assistance for the woman, who was in distress.The Indian Army Post in Nala received a call from the locals on Nov 24th requesting urgent medical attention to a pregnant lady(two months) Mrs Atara, a 30 yr WO, was having severe abdominal pain.According to an Army release, the Army Medical Team at Nala post checked the vitals and prepared an emergency evacuation.

The lady was then evacuated from Chotali to PHC Boniyar in an army vehicle with the Torna Battalion's Quick Reponse Team (QRT).
