Indian wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Pooja Gehlot have a successful opening stretch for CWG 2022

Vinesh Phogat, Pooja Gehlot, and Pooja Sihag win their opening matches . The Indian wrestler defeated Samantha Stewart in the womens freestyle 53 kg category- Nordic round .

Birmingham, United Kingdom, August 6 : Vinesh Phogat, an Indian wrestler, made a winning start to her Commonwealth Games 2022 campaign on Saturday by defeating Canadas Samantha Stewart in the womens freestyle 53 kg category- Nordic round at the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2022 tournament.The Phogats match lasted only 36 seconds.She won the match via chute by 2-0.When Stewart was deposed by the Indian quickly, she couldn't even handle a minute of in-mat time.

By forfeit, she won the first match of her nordic round against Rebecca Ndolo Muambo of Cameroon.As her opponent had withdrawn the fight, she did not even have to step inside the mat.Gehlot continued to win her second match against Scotland's Christelle Lemofack Letchidjio.This match lasted two minutes and thirty seconds.

Both women are in the top of their nordic Groups.Later today, Naveen, Ravi Dahiya, Pooja Sihag, and Deepak Nehra will be in action.The Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham opened on July 28 and will continue until August 8.
