KANSKER, CHhattisgarh (India), December 8: On Thursday morning, the counting of votes for the Bhanupratappur assembly seat in Chhattisgarh began, with the Congress candidate taking the lead until 10 a.m. Congress candidate Savitri Manoj Mandavi led Bhanupratappur by a margin of 1907 votes till 10:00 a.m., according to election commission officials.Bramhanand Netam, the BJP, came second in the Bhanupratappur assembly by-election, the highest number of seats among six assembly seats in the five states in the world where the election was held on December 5.Former MLA Manoj Singh Mandavi's death left the Bhanupratappur assembly seat vacant, and the ruling Congress has cast its ballots.Bramhanand Netam, an ex MLA, was elected as the candidate for the bypoll in the Maoist-affected Kanker district on August 9, 2018.
