BRISTOL (England) – Wayne Parnell, a South African seamer, recorded career-highs of 5-30 in a 44-run win over Ireland, ending a clean sweep of their two-match Twenty20 International series in Bristol on Friday.South Africa was sent in to bat and fought back from a poor start to post 182 for six in their innings before restricting Ireland to 138 all out in 18.5 overs.In the second over of Ireland's chase, left-armer Parnell put Ireland on the back foot as he grabbed two wickets before returning to dismiss top scorer Harry Tector (34 from 31 balls), putting an end to Ireland's hopes of victory.South Africa found scoring difficult in the early stages of their innings, but finished with a flourish to post a daunting total.

Top-scorer Reeza Hendricks was denied a fifth consecutive half-century in 20-over internationals, and those two scores contributed to a more sedate 42 from 40 balls by innings.South Africa has now won 16 out of their last 20 games in the shortest format, which is excellent news for the T20 World Cup in Australia, which starts in October.
