New Delhi: Poonam Jain, the wife of Delhi minister Satyendar Kumar Jain, was released from jail on Saturday after his lawyer told the court that Jain (57) is going to be discharged from the hospital.On July 15, he was admitted to the LNJP hospital and his application was accepted, and Special Judge Geetanjali Goel said that the same was dismissed.Jains wife and co-accused Poonam were released on interim bail after the court, but Special Public Prosecutor NK Matta was directed to respond to the court by August 20 for her normal bail plea.Poonam appeared before the court on Saturday and changed her bail plea on the grounds that she was not arrested during the probe and that the chargesheet had already been submitted.In the case, the court halted the order until the next hearing on the two other accused, Ajit Prasad Jain and Sunil Kumar Jain, because they were not arrested in the trial.

The chargesheet was also filed against a handful of firms, including an FIR filed by the CBI on August 24, 2017.The CBI initiated a money laundering probe against Satyendar Jain and others under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.Jain, according to the CBI, had acquired assets that were indistinguishable from his recognized sources of income while serving as a minister in Delh's Government from February 14, 2015 to May 31, 2017.
