Jaishankar promises to continue providing aid to Syria.

India has provided humanitarian, technical, and development assistance to Syria from time to time, including during the pandemic . This is the first visit to India as Foreign Minister Dr Faisal Mekdad .

According to the release, about 1500 scholarships have been given to Syrian students to study in India in various fields, including 200 scholarships for the upcoming academic year.Mekdad will be in India from November 17-21, 2022.This is his first visit to India as Foreign Minister.Today, Jaishankar hosted the visiting Foreign Minister for bilateral talks.According to the MEA release, both Ministers reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.
