New Delhi (India), December 6: The Tamil Nadu government told the Supreme Court on Tuesday that sporting activities can also be cultural activities, and that bulls are kept in the state for the enjoyment of humans during a traditional bull-taming sport like Jallikattu, according to senior advocate Rakesh Dwivedi, who represents Tamil Nadu.The Supreme Court had earlier ruled that the petitions challenging the Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra Legislature's Bullock Cart Racing Act, 2017 should be rejected by a larger bench because they raised important issues regarding the Constitution's interpretation, including that the petitions challenging the 2013 decision that bullock cart racing was unlawful in the state.
