Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has written to the finance branch of the government and sought instructions from the UDH department for approving lease deeds and carrying out development works in Metro Enclave. Two years ago, the JDA on behalf of Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation held an exercise to sell plots of Metro land along the B2 Bypass via e-auction.The civic body sold 124 of the total 320 plots that were part of the scheme. However, after both the departments locked horns over funds, work on redevelopment and lease deeds were pulled off.

The report has now been sent to the UDH and finance department.Funds will be transferred to JDA's account after a decision is made.A Metro source said that the JMRC would not absorb much of the money as it would for future expansions and maintenance of existing infrastructure.According to a source, the money earned from auctioning will be put into the dedicated Metro fund.

The money will be credited to the JMRC account, which will be used to expand projects.A Metro dedication fund is being planned, which will be divided into three sections.Along the Metro corridor, the proposal draft includes provisions to levy a levy on heavy vehicles, selling land, and providing a premium floor area ratio (FAR).According to a UDH source, the government was hesitant to levy a parking fee on heavy vehicles because it could spark demonstrations.

Once approval is obtained, a notice will be published and a commission to handle the funds will be formed.
