KANPUR (Kantau): A group of Muslim intellectuals in the city has created an initiative to dispel rumors regarding the recently launched Agnipath scheme, encouraging clerics and imams of mosques to encourage youths attending Friday prayers to use the opportunity and serve the country by joining the defence forces.At a time when violent protests by youths against the Agnipath scheme have diminished significantly, AMP members obtained assistance from respected Muslim clerics and imams of mosques in the region, encouraging them to apply for jobs in defence forces under the Agnipath scheme.The campaign will begin on Friday, just before the prayers.The Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) has been tirelessly promoting education for Muslim children.By acknowledged clerics and Imams of the mosques in the area, our call will be passed on to eligible Muslim youths.In the Friday prayers, AMP patron Shahid Kamran said that they would make a special appeal for this.We are also utilizing social media to help Muslim youths searching for work opportunities in the Army, according to another senior member of the Association.We have informed the applicants who have completed Class 10 and Class 12 that they may apply for the job under the Agnipath scheme. Starting on July 25, virtual assessments will begin.The minimum age is 17 years, 6 months, and 23 years.We're also talking about Islamic teaching institutes and colleges.According to Kamran, the Agnipath program would not only be given to Muslim youths, but also to those from other societies.
