Keep Quiet: Centers' Attorney Addresses the Supreme Court at an Election Commission Hearing

Supreme Court questions procedure used to nominate Arun Goel as an Election Commissioner . President General R Venkataramani asked the court to hold its mouth and request that it look into the matter in its entirety .

New Delhi (New Delhi): The Supreme Court questioned the procedure used to nominate Arun Goel as an Election Commissioner (EC) today, saying that his dossier was cleared in a rush and with tearing urgency, and that President General R Venkataramani, the head of a five-judge Constitution bench led by Justice KM Joseph, asked the court to hold its mouth and request that it look into the matter in its entirety.I am requesting the court to look at the whole issue.Mr Goel's original file of his appointment as an Election Commissioner was put forward by the Centre in the same day, the Law Ministry cleared his file, a panel of four names was put up before the prime minister, and Goels name was declared the Chief Election Commissioner within 24 hours, according to the bench.
