Kerala (Kerala) (India), November 30, 2018: The Kerala High Court ordered a re-investigation of the case in which Saseendran, the former Company Secretary of Malabar Cements, and his two sons died. The court instructed CBI to complete the investigation within four months. It also ordered that any suspicious situation, including the possibility of murder, be investigated in detail. The Sessions Court denied the petition filed by Saseendrans brother Sanal Kumar, who wanted a re-investigation.The High Court ruled that the lawsuit against it should be re-investigated.
The High Court gave the case to the CBI after the state police investigation.VM Radhakrishan, a Malaysian cement contractor, was arrested by the CBI on March 19, 2013 and charged with abetment to suicide. In the Malabar Cements lawsuits, Saseendran had pleaded guilty to Radhakrishnan. The CBI had determined that the suicide was caused by the stress that Saseendran had been under. The CBI court returned the charge sheet twice and approved an amended one on September 2, 2014.
