Kerala requires adventure tourism participants to register.

The Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society (KATPS) created an expert committee to develop safety recommendations for the adventure tourism industry.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) (India), October 27 : The Kerala government has made registration for service providers in the adventure tourism industry mandatory for a variety of land, water, and air-related activities, as part of a first-of-its-kind initiative in the region.The Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society (KATPS), which operates under the Ministry of Tourism, created an expert committee to develop safety recommendations for the adventure tourism industry.The task force, led by Manesh Bhaskar, the former KATPS chief executive officer, had drawn up a set of enhanced Adventure Tourism Safety and Security Regulations by taking into account the state's currently 31 adventure tourism activities.Kerala Tourism Director V R Krishna Teja said that the sector was regarded as a promising sector, particularly in the aftermath of the pandemic crisis, with the help of a team of tourism officials and experts to grant the registration, which would help the state to attract more tourists to this sector with the highest confidence.
