Kerala Suo motu litigation is brought by the high court against Kerala's PFI bandh

Kerala (Kerala), September 23: The Supreme Court of Kerala (India) filed a suo motu suit against PFI leaders in the state on Friday, calling for a strike in the state against the National Investigation Agency's detention of its members.Notably, as per a Kerala HC order issued on January 7, 2019, no one can demand a bandh in the state without prior notice of seven days.The court ordered that appropriate police protection be provided to all public utility services that promote illegal hartal, which began at 6 a.m. on Thursday, and that attacks on cars including KSRTC buses be launched by protesters in various areas of the state.The hartal (strike) was triggered by reports of stone pelting in various areas of the state.

At Panamaram village in Wayanad district, videos showed hartal supporters pelting stones at the Kerala State Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus.The bus was headed to Kozhikode, according to a statement released by the PFI state committee, which said that the arrest of PFI national and state leaders by the NIA and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was unjust and part of the state's torture program.
