New Delhi, India, November 24 : On Friday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the closing ceremony of the year-long celebrations of Lachit Barphukan's 400th birth anniversary at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital.The country is commemorating the 400th anniversary of Lachit Barphukan's birth in Guwahati in February this year.He defeated the Mughals and successfully stopped Aurangzeb's ever-expanding ambitions.Lachit Barphukan was the genital father of the Assam province, which was first mentioned in the Ahom Kingdom of Assam, in 1672.

Lachit Barphukan is one of India's greatest military heroes, and the Assam government attempted to preserve the warrior's legacy both within and outside the state on a national scale on Friday.On the 400th anniversary of his birth, various uniformed men and women marched past to commemorate his valour and sacrifice in thwarting the Mughal forces.
