Leading US Counterterrorism Official to Attend Important Meeting in India

Washington, D.C.: The State Department announced on Thursday that Timothy Betts would lead the US delegation to the annual US-India Counterterrorism Joint Working Group in New Delhi from December 8 to 14.The Joint Working Group will address regional and global terrorist threat assessments, collaborative bilateral and regional counterterrorism training, and initiatives to improve law enforcement and judicial partnerships.Betts will speak with senior Philippine officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Anti-Terrorism Council in Manila on December 9 to discuss upcoming counterterrorism cooperation and the US-Philippine security alliance, as well as strategies to improve law enforcement and judicial relationships.
