License for the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation was revoked due to FCRA violations, according to MoS Nityanand Rai

The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF) license under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) was cancelled under section 14 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 . The Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust (RGCT) license was suspended under section 14 of the FCRA .

New Delhi, India, December 7: Under section 14 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, the Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai informed Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF) license under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).According to MoS Nityanand Rai, the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF)'s FCRA license was cancelled under section 14 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA, 2010), because of the violation of provisions under section 11 and conditions of registration under section 12(4)(a)(vi) of the FCRA, 201.Rai reported that the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust (RGCT) license was suspended under section 14 of the FCRA.According to MoS Nityanand Rai, the FCRA license of the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust (RGCT) was terminated under section 14 of the FCRA, 2010, due to the violation of provisions under sections 8(1)(a), 11, 17, 18, 19 and the conditions of registration under section 12(4)(a)(vi) of the FCRA, 2010.

According to MoS Nityanand Rai, the association whose FCRA registration has been cancelled under section 14(3) of the FCRA, 2010, will be unable to register or request a prior permission for a period of three years from the date of cancellation.
