Mysuru, Jan. 11, 2019: Members of various groups led by corporator K V Sridhar gathered in Mysuru on Friday to protest Mysuru Urban Development Authority (Muda) and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for constructing railway under bridges along the Outer Ring Road, particularly between the KRS Road junction and the Bengaluru Road junction.Although the ORR has been six-laned, the RUB has not been widened, creating bottlenecks and creating problems.Under the influence of congestion, thousands of vehicles, including large tankers heading to industrial towns such as Hebbal and Metagalli Industrial Area, pass through these RUBs every day.Although the locals have been pushing for broadening the RUBs to keep such accidents at bay, Sridhar said they have failed to inform the new government.Sridhar said that his supporters and himself have lodged several lawsuits with Muda, NHAI, Railways, and other officials concerned.

During the demonstration, Prema Shankaregowda, K V Mallesh, and others, as well as protesters Ramprasad, Paduvarahalli Ramakrishna, and others, he said he will write to the governor, chief minister, and Mysuru MP to look into their demands.
