Maharashtra: Mob attacks youth in Ahmednagar for backing Nupur Sharma; 4 people are detained

Ahmednagar (Maharashtra) (India), August 6: A 23-year-old man was apparently assaulted with sharp weapons by a pack of 15-20 people in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra for reportedly supporting suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma on social media.The incident occurred in Ahmednagar, a Karjat town.Prateek Pawar was critically wounded in the attack and is currently in the intensive care unit at a hospital.Prateek is an activist who writes articles and other social media material.He had also shared pictures of Umesh Kolhe and Kanhaiya Lal.

The group attacked him with sharp knives and swords.According to the victims' cousin Prajyot Pawar, he had received threats from NIA to publish a report into Kanhiya Lal and Umesh Kolhe, and supporting Nupur Sharma.He has been seriously wounded.We're all worried.

In the meantime, Maharashtra Police registered a case and arrested four people in connection with the incident.According to Ahmednagar Superintendent of Police Manoj Patil, four people have been arrested in connection with the occurrence.The complaint has been sent to us by the victims' group.According to their lawsuit, some of the accused crowd shouted that they had supported Nupur Sharma while attacking Pawar.
