Maharashtra political crisis: Eknath Shinde claims 42 MLAs and counting, showing BJP hand

MUMBAI (MUMBAI) — Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's MVA government remained fragile on Thursday as the MVA dissidents' ranks grew.Eknath Shinde, the rebel Shiv Sena leader, boasted of 42 party MLAs, with more arriving by night, including those who had been with the group at the start of the revolt.Shinde also revealed the BJP's support for the coup in a video in which he told his group, according to a national party, which said it would give us whatever assistance it can.He said it was a superpower, without specifying the name of the organization.

Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis left for Delhi on Thursday evening to visit home minister Amit Shah.
