India: Majeed Memon, the chairman of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), resigned from Mumbai (Maharashtra) on Thursday, citing personal reasons.When resigning, Memon expressed appreciation to NCP chief Sharad Pawar, saying I am grateful to NCP Chief Sharad Pawarji for giving me the honor and valuable direction during my 16 years with NCP.With immediate effect, I have ceased to be a member of the NCP for personal reasons.In a tweet, Memon said that my best wishes to Pawar Saheb and the NCP were always with him.
