Man killed in Madhya Pradesh by Maoists on suspicion of being a police informant

Lalu Dhurve, a resident of village Jagla near Pathri outpost near the Malanjkhand police station, has been named the deceased . The body was discovered to have handwritten notes on it, which stated that the Malanjkhand Area Committee was punishing him for being a police informant .

BHOPAL: In the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, a villager was shot and killed by suspected Maoists on suspicion of being a police informant.Lalu Dhurve, a resident of village Jagla near Pathri outpost near the Malanjkhand police station, has been named the deceased.The attack occurred on Friday and Saturday night.Police spotted the perpetrators after receiving details.

Police said they had yet to disclose the identities of those involved in the investigation.Last week, Maoists in Balaghat displayed banners encouraging people to commemorate martyrs week, from July 28 to August 3.They arrived on Friday to put up banners and leave pamphlets in the Sonewani neighborhood, which falls under the Roopjhar police station.To monitor the situation, intensive patrolling was being conducted, as well as increased protection.

The banned CPI (Maoist) observes Martyrs Week every year in honor of their leader Charu Majumdar, who died on July 27, 1972 in West Bengal.
