Manika-Diya and Akula-Tennison win a spot in the women's doubles quarterfinals of the CWG 2022

Birmingham (UK), August 6th: The ninth day of Indias Commonwealth Games 2022 started on a positive note, as the womens doubles duos of Manika Batra and Diya Prayag, Sreeja Akula and Reeth Tennison advanced to the quarterfinals after winning their round of 16 matches on Saturday.Manika-Diya defeated Mauritius' Oumehani Hosenally and Nandashwaree Jalim by 3-0.This Indian duo defeated their opponent by 11-5, 11-5, and 11-3.Manika and Diya got off to a good start when they won the first round convincingly.

In their 3-0 victory over Anna Chloe Thomas Wu Zang and Lara Whitto of Wales, the other Indian womens doubles duo of Sreeja Akula and Reeth Tennison was also impressive.To advance to the quarterfinals, Akula-Tennison came out on top by 11-7, 11-4, 11-3.The Welsh duo were not given enough opportunities to eliminate their deficit and lost the match in three games.Today, there is a lot of exciting table tennis action for fans.

From July 28 to August 8, the Commonwealth Games 2022 will begin in Birmingham.
