Maximum Vacancies In Army, 1.35 Lakh Personnel Shortage In Three Armed Forces

Minister of Defence Ajay Bhatt said the Indian Air Force (airmen and non-combatants) was in dire need of 1.35 lakh workers . In the year 2022, there have been 3,000 positions open in the Indian Navy .

In reply to a query, Minister of Defence Ajay Bhatt said that the Indian Air Force (airmen and non-combatants) was in dire need of 1.35 lakh workers, with the maximum number of vacancies in the Army at 1.18 lakh as of November 1, 2022.In response to a query, he said that the total number of vacant positions was 5,819.In the year 2022, there have been 3,000 positions open in the Indian Navy.Mr Bhatt said that all recruitment activities in the Indian Air Force are aimed at Agniveer-vayu in the year 2022, out of which about 60,000 vacancies are for the Army.He said there is now a shortage of 1,08,685 jawans in the Indian Army due to the reduction of recruitment rallies in the last two years as a result of the COVID-19 situation.In response to another question, Bhatt said the government has completed the upgrade of defence airfield infrastructure in two stages.The initial allocation for phase-I was Rs 1,215.35 crore, while phase-I was Rs 1,187.17 crore.
