New Delhi, December 9: Under Operation Ganga, all Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine were evacuated from Ukraine, mostly students, according to Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakashi Lekhi, who spoke to Lok Sabha on Friday.Around 20,000 Indians, including students, were trapped in Ukraine.In a written statement released on the Rajya Sabha table earlier this year, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India's foreign policy has been instrumental in the safe return of 22,500 Indian citizens and 147 foreign nationals from Ukraine to the 18 countries under the COVID-19 crisis.
