New Delhi, December 7: According to BJP sources, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called a meeting of its main office bearers at the BJP headquarters at 5:30 p.m. today. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won 134 out of the total 250 wards in the MCD elections, uprooting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s 15-year reign. The BJP won 104 wards, while Congress was reduced to nine, ensuring that its base in Delhi continues to decline. The MCD's high-decibel war saw both sides' arguments and counter-claims of winning the elections, however, it all boiled down to December 7 when the results of the election were revealed.

Nevertheless, the low voter turnout did not indicate pro-incumbency.The BJP, which is mostly focused on the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, was not predicted to be a big challenger in the recently conducted polling, although high-stakes civic polls are largely viewed as a three-way race between the BJP, the AAP, and the Congress, with special media rooms for viewing live results on the Commission's web portal from these 42 counting centres.Nonetheless, Delhi had seen high-stakes civic elections From 2012-2022, there were 272 wards in Delhi and three companies-NDMC, SDMC, and EDMC-that reunified into a MCD that officially took existence on May 22.
