New Delhi, India, December 7: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has granted permission for the issuance of visas to 34 Pakistani players and officials interested in participating in India's forthcoming Blind Cricket World Cup 2022.After examination, the MHA has revealed the names of 34 players and officials of Pakistan Blind cricket team for the World Cup in India, according to government sources.Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), which had issued a statement on Tuesday, claimed that its team could not obtain visa clearance from the Indian external affairs ministry, leaving the team in the lurch.Asked about the situation, government officials said that MHA does not issue visas.
The visas are issued by a foreign high commission in Bengaluru, and while India and Nepal will meet in the first round of the tournament at Faridabads Sledge Hammer stadium on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, the big India-Pakistan match is scheduled to take place at the DDA Siri Fort Sports Complex in the national capital the next day.The tournament will include seven nations, including Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, South Africa, and India, as well as hosts and two-time defending Indias matches will be played in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Kochi, Kerala, Cuttack, Odisha, and Panjim in Goa in addition to the DelhiNCR.
