Thiruvananthapuram, November 13, 2017: Antony Raju, the minister of transport, has stated that the government is not required to pay the KSRTC staff salaries. The board has to bear the brunt of the present crisis. The workers went on strike without paying attention to government's promises. Then, why can they say that the government is responsible for providing the salaries, the transport minister said.

It is the board that has the upper hand. The unions aren't willing to welcome the government into public opinion and blame the government for the tardy payments of the salaries. The state cabinet did not reach an agreement on the payment of the April salary to the employees the next day.The CEO is also unable to give any assurance on this point.

Since returning from the United States, the chief minister met with the transportation minister. But no decision was taken even in the meeting. The transport minister has been criticized by the labor unions, including the CITU.The CITU has been looking for time to meet the chief minister, but the CM's office hasn't given them one.
