MP to draw international tourists with rural homestays

The initiative was announced as part of the MP Tourism Boards Rural Tourism Program . In the first phase of the program, tourism activities will be conducted in about 100 villages .

Bhopal, India: The Madhya Pradesh tourism department is looking for homestays in selected villages to attract international visitors to the state's rural areas.The initiative was announced as part of the MP Tourism Board's Rural Tourism Program.In the first phase of the program, tourism activities will be conducted in about 100 villages to allow visitors to experience the local lifestyle and environment.According to Primary Secretary (tourism) and managing director of MP Tourism Board Sheo Shekhar Shukla, the tourism industry is evolving.

They want to see rural life, according to Shukla.According to the scheme, a 40% grant of the new homestay's construction cost will be given to the recipient, while a maximum Rs 2 lakh or 40% grant of the homestay's upgradation cost (maximum Rs 12 lakh) will be given to the hosts.The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has developed four programs to help visitors explore the rural experience (Madhya Pradesh Village Stay Scheme (Registration and Regulation) Scheme 2019 Madhya Pradesh Farm Stay Scheme (Registration and Regulation) Scheme 2019 Madhya Pradesh Bed and Breakfast Establishment (Registration and Regulation) Scheme 2019 (Revised 2018) In the first phase of the scheme, tourism activities will be conducted in about 100 villages.According to officials, 1,000 homestay rooms will be renovated to provide residential facilities to tourists.
