Mumbai: DRI apprehends traveller for bringing cocaine hidden in whiskey bottles.

Passenger was attempting to smuggle illicit substances of about 3.5 kilograms . The average weight of two bottles of liquid cocaine is about 3.5 kilograms .

New Delhi, India (India), November 25, 2015: Officials from the Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) picked up a passenger on Thursday for reportedly smuggling diluted contraband drugs, concealed in two bottles of whisky, at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.The accused passenger was identified and arrested at the airport, according to specific data obtained by DRI officers.The passenger was attempting to smuggle illicit substances of about 3.5 kilograms.On November 24, the passenger was flying from Lagos to Mumbai via Addis Ababa.

Cocaine was spotted in the contents of the bottles after testing with a drug detection kit.The average weight of two bottles of liquid cocaine is about 3.5 kilograms.Officials said cocaine was intrepidly dissolved in the liquid contained in the said bottles to make it impossible to detect.The contraband's illegal international market value is estimated to be over Rs 20 crores.
