Muslim teenagers were being recruited by PFI office holders to join banned groups like ISIS: NIA

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that office bearers, members, and cadres of the Popular Front of India (PFI) were involved in radicalizing and recruiting Muslim youth to join banned organisations such as ISIS . The NIA informed a special court in written citing its First Information Report, which was published on April 13 this year by the Ministry of Home Affairs .

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that office bearers, members, and cadres of the Popular Front of India (PFI) were involved in radicalizing and recruiting Muslim youth to join banned organisations such as ISIS a day earlier in its first-ever megaoperation against the outfit, the NIA informed a special court in written citing its First Information Report, which was published on April 13 this year by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).According to the NIA, the Delhi branch of the branch of the FBI records the criminal attacks of PFI such as cutting off the hand of a college professor, cold-blooded killings of individuals affiliated with other faiths, the usage of explosives to target prominent people and places, support to Islamic State, and destruction of public property have had the effect of inciting violence in the minds of the people.NIA, ED, and state police forces arrested 106 PFI leaders, cadres, and others on Thursday, in the hopes of educating their members and others to commit terrorist attacks.Following continuing investigations and reports, the NIA conducted searches in 93 locations in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Assam, Maharashtra, Goa, West Bengal, Bihar, and Manipur.
