India — Bengaluru (Karnataka) — (India), November 21: Narayan Jagadeesan, a Tamil Nadu batter, surpassed Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakara on Monday to record the most number of consecutive centuries in the history of List A cricket.The list of A cricket formats include ODI matches and matches from various domestic competitions in which the number of overs per team varies from 40 to 60.At the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, India's highest-class 50-over domestic cricket tournament, the batter hit a historic moment during his side's match against Arunachal Pradesh.He earned his fifth-consecutive hundred in the tournament in the final season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, surpassing players like Virat Kohli, Prithvi Shaw, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Devdutt Padikkal, who have scored four centuries each.
He has since left behind Kumar Sangakara, who had scored four centuries in the 2015 Cricket World Cup.To finish with 541 runs in the tournament, he hit 108.20, he scored 105* against Bangladesh, 117* against England, 104 against Australia, and 124 against Scotland.He came in at the second place in the tournament for the most runs.
