Multan (Pakistan), December 8: Since being reported to be carrying a lingering shoulder niggle, the pacer's place in the second Test against England in Multan has been reduced.Due to the absence of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Harris Rauf, the series's star bowler. His five wickets had no effect on his wickets. He did however, throw the ball from the boundary of Englands first innings, seemingly in disarray, as if shielding his shoulder. He bowled through the rest of the Test, gripping his shoulder more often but mostly appearing unconcerned.

After Rauf was ruled out, Pakistan considered calling up Hasan Ali, but instead settled against it.It increases the chance of Mohammad Wasim Jnr making his debut, as he and Mohammad Ali, who made his debut in Rawalpindi, are the only specialist fast bowlers left in the squad.Pakistan also has Faheem Ashraf, an allrounder whose bowling has boosted the pace attack.Wasim has only played seven first-class matches and has been a regular starter in Pakistan's white ball style, much like Rauf, who had played eight first-class games prior to his debut.

Pakistan's loss to England in the first Test pushed the Asian team further down in the standings to reach next years World Test Championship final at The Oval, where they lead the way in terms of wins, while Pakistan is in fifth place with a 46.67 win rate.
