NASHIK (NASHIK): The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has now started work to finish reopening the Phalke Memorial to the public on June 16.For the renovation and annual maintenance of the Dadasaheb Phalke Memorial, NMC has accepted an Expression of Interest (EoI).The entrance to the museum is free at the moment, but the visitor base is increasing and the NMC is introducing entry fees on July 1.Ramesh Pawar, the chief executive of NMC, revealed that the monument will be renovated in conjunction with Hyderabads Ramoji Film City.

The museum's first year was a major attraction, with a healthy number of visitors. Many people had turned their back on the site, but it was because of the municipal corporation's incompetence.Until then, the NMC administration has invited expressions of opinions (EoI), and the deadline for submitting an EoI is July 13.On July 1, a pre-bid meeting will take place, and technical bids will be accepted on July 14.

The civic body had also submitted a bid and appointed a Mumbai-based private firm for the purpose, but no work order was given to the organization.Pawar, who took over the position in the last week of March, had cancelled his offer to develop and operate Phalke Memorial through a Mumbai-based private company.Pawar had decided to develop and operate it on its own.
