NCERT Syllabus, Dress Code To Be Introduced By Waqf Board In Uttarakhand Madrasas

Uttarakhand Waqf Board to include NCERT syllabus and dress code in madrasas starting next year . Board will also open doors of its madrasas for children of all faiths .

Dehradun: As part of efforts to modernize madrasa education in Uttarakhand, the Uttarakhand Waqf Board has decided to include a NCERT syllabus and a dress code in its madrasas starting next year, said Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams.The board will also decide to open the doors of its madrasas for children of all faiths, according to Shams.The decision is in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modis' vision of madrasa-going children holding the holy Quran in one hand and a laptop in the other.We want madrasas to become centers of modern education, according to Shams.Meanwhile, the Wakf board has decided to extend the duration of Hafiz-e-Quran education in its madrasas from four years to ten years so that the students will have passed Class 10 or 12 and be mature enough to decide whether they want to pursue religious education or become doctors and engineers, according to Shams.
