Kathmandu, Nepal, December 6: The Nepal council of ministers met on Tuesday evening to lift the ban on the import of luxurious cars, mobile phones, liquors, and motorcycles, according to Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Dilendra Badu.The lifting of the ban on the import of these items was declared effective in early May this year by the cabinet meeting.The Chief Secretary's committee recommended that the ban be lifted, and the cabinet meeting today confirmed that it would be lifted.Minister Dilendra Badu said that imports would begin on December 1622.
The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies published a notice indicating that the ban had not affected the import of raw materials for cigarettes and tobacco, Color television sets, SUVs, Cars and Vans, Motorcycles, and playing cards.
