Nitin Raut, Maharashtra's energy minister, wants to create a biodiversity park at Eklahara.

Eklahare Nashik Thermal Power Station abandoned after colonisation . Area should be converted into a Biodiversity Park .

NASHIK: After the colony's inhabitants left the area and migrated to Nashik, the majority of the buildings at Eklahare Nashik Thermal Power Station have been abandoned.The park is dotted with tall trees and is brimming with traditional and indigenous plants.The area should therefore be converted into a Biodiversity Park.Energy minster Nitin Raut said that a great park will be constructed in the future and that there will be no fear of wild beasts.

MLA Hiraman Khoskar, Saroj Ahire, Executive Director of Mahanirmity (Mahagenco), RG Morale, Chief Engineer of NM Shinde, Chief Engineer of Mahavitaran (MSEDCL), Deepak Kumthekar, Chief Engineer of Mahapareshan (Mahatransco), and engineers and senior executives of all three companies were present on the occasion.The Energy Minister urged the electricity workers to act in favor of the farmers, who will not have to face a power shortage.He also stressed that the power plant was in need of ash, and that the ash should be distributed as per the legislation.He also confirmed that the government was considering giving approval to a 660 MW wind farm in Eklahare.
