Nashik Municipal Corporation wants to get funds from state tourism department . The Phalke Memorial was closed for almost two years during the Covid pandemic .

Nashik: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to obtain funds from the state tourism department to redevelop the Phalke Memorial, which was closed for almost two years during the Covid pandemic, said NMC commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar.We have also submitted a proposal to employ a project management firm to manage the Phalke Memorial's redevelopment to create a major tourist attraction.According to the NMC commissioner, we've decided to request funding from the state tourism department for its redevelopment.The Phalke Memorial is located about 13 kilometers from Nashik city and covers a total of 29 acres.There is a beautiful courtyard to enjoy the sculptures by Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema, and a spectacular memorial garden in the courtyard.

Nevertheless, people have turned their back on the site for the past several years because of the municipal corporation's negligence.
