No Separate State of North Karnataka Is Being Proposed, Says CM Basavaraj Bommai

Basavaraj Bommai says he has said it for years that North Karnataka needs a separate state . Bommai says he has not disclosed this .

New Delhi: State Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai told reporters on Thursday that the government isn't considering or planning to create a separate state of North Karnataka, and that he hasn't disclosed this.He has said it for many years.Mr Katti has made statements requesting the state be divided and calling for the establishment of a separate state from time to time.Mr Bommai told reporters at Karnataka Bhavan in the national capital that only the people of South Karnataka are affected by it; thats why we need a separate state, and that is our mission, he said.

According to the tour schedule released by his office, the Chief Minister visited New Delhi on Thursday afternoon and would return to Karnataka on Friday evening.
