Residents of North Chennai for over a month held a protest outside the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) office . Residents wore face shields that resembled those used in a gas refinery plant and carried placards reading stop poisoning our air .

CHENNAI (CHENNAI): Residents of Manali, Tiruvottiyur, and Ennore districts of North Chennai for over a month held a protest outside the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) office in Guindy on Saturday.Residents wore face shields that resembled those used in a gas refinery plant and carried placards reading stop poisoning our air.Despite the Tamil Nadu government creating a committee of Isro scientists and others to probe the issue, nothing has changed on the ground, according to the residents.It wasn't until 3.30 p.m. that the smell began to build.

The TNPCB had previously urged Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited in Manali to follow certain protocols.
