New Delhi (India): On Thursday, the Delhi High Court issued a notice to Aam Aadmi Party members Vijay Nair and Abhishek Boinpally, a Hyderabad-based businessman, on a CBI charge challenging a trial court order denying them bail in the Excise Policy lawsuit. The case was scheduled for December 5.After noting that the accused are now in Enforcement Directorates custody, the court moved the CBI interim request for a suspension of an order passed. The court also informed the court that the chargesheet in the case would be submitted tomorrow before the concerned trial court. The CBI's complaint stated that the trial court judge has not only given the respondent a bail concession but also exercised this discretion at a crucial stage of the investigation.

According to the petitioner agency, the present case is a case of a scheme arranged in a complicated fashion with the sole aim of ensuring that the investigation, if any, does not go to the actual culprits. It was further reported that the petitioner agency was directed to inquire into a report submitted by none other than the Chief Secretary of the NCT of Delhi by letter dated July 22, 2022.The petitioner agency obtained some other records while waiting for Section 17-A clearance.Consequently, the petitioner agency opened an investigation and revealed a far more serious offence than the present bail application, which also shows the stage and interest of the investigation which would be greatly affected by the respondent's release on bail.
