BHUBANESWAR, India: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has set up two stalls at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack railway stations, involving local self-help organisations in collaboration with the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS).The Centre has developed this program with the aim of improving the living conditions and quality of local artisans, potters, weavers, handloom weavers, and tribals.The beneficiaries are given with stalls at railway stations to showcase and sell the best local products of the area.According to a statement issued by the Commission on Thursday, the scheme's primary aim is to make the railway stations a marketing hub and a showcase destination for local products, thereby giving local businesses a significant boost.

According to a source, passengers can purchase the goods directly from artisans without using any intermediaries.According to the initiative, the Khurda Road division had opened one stand at Puri railway station to market Odishas famous Pattachitra and Pipili Applique.The division has also distributed a notification on various social media platforms that it was inviting applications for One Station One Product stands at 78 railway stations across the Khurda Road division.The divisional railway manager, Rinkesh Roy, called on the local artisans, potters, weavers, and tribals to come forward to apply for these stalls.
