On its 67th birthday day, the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) signed memoranda of understanding to establish five Adarsha Vidyalayas in its territories and a skill academy at Koira.The corporation will invest Rs 208 crore to build the five establishments in OMC mining areas.Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik thanked officers on the occasion for their service to these organisations, saying that the program would enhance learning and create a holistic environment conducive to growth.OMC has also played a vital role in guiding positive change in improving the quality of life of the individuals.

The OMC has always put its concentrated efforts for excellence into sports, health, education, or peripheral development, according to the CM.With a turnover of Rs 17,000 crore, the corporation saw over 30 million tonnes in the last financial year.Naveen hoped that these figures would continue to rise in the coming year and would lead to other PSUs.The CM also started operation of 3 iron ore mines at Bansapani, Unchabali, and Khndabandha.
