New Delhi, India, November 20: According to a press release by the Indian Ministry of Defense, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be attending the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Defense Ministers plus Meeting (ADMM) and the India-ASEAN defence ministers meeting in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on November 22 and 23.The India-ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting, hosted by Cambodia, will begin on November 22 to commemorate 30 years of bilateral relations.According to the press release, Rajnath Singh and the invited dignities of the ASEAN will be discussing and announcing proposals to expand the India-ASEAN relationship.According to the press release, Rajnath Singh will address the ADMM-Plus meeting on November 23.
Since 2017, ASEAN defence ministers have been meeting annually to discuss cooperation between the ASEAN Plus countries.According to a press release issued by Indias MOD, India and ASEAN's relationship expanded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in November 2022.Singh will also be participating in bilateral negotiations with defence ministers of participating countries, in addition to the ADMM-Plus meeting and the India-ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting, to improve defence cooperation amongst ASEAN Plus nations.
