New Delhi (New York) — On the third anniversary of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's death, her successor S Jaishankar fondly remembers her late BJP leader, Sushma Swaraj ji.Mr. Jaishankar wrote in a tweet that he was one of the most prominent female members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Swaraj, died at the age of 67 after a cardiac arrest.Sawraj was also remembered by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur.Mr Thakur said in a tweet that Sushma Swaraj left an indelible mark of gentleness, spontaneity, and hard work on India's political scene as a dynamic speaker, organizer, and activist.

Swaraj was born on February 14, 1952 and entered public life at a young age, winning the Haryana Legislative Assembly at the age of 25 in 1977 and becoming Cabinet Minister for Education, Food and Civil Supplies from 1987-1990.She was also the first female Chief Minister of Delhi for a brief period in 1998.
