On Friday, New York (US), EAM S Jaishankar met with Saudi Prime Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the margins of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).The Government and the Saudi people were greeted with smears from him.Jaishankar tweeted that the Strategic Partnership Council would guide our links to greater heights in the past few years, in terms of military, security, oil, commerce, infrastructure, agriculture, and defense.During the Covid pandemic, both countries' top officials stayed in contact.This latest meeting came just a few weeks after Jaishankar made a special visit to the Kingdom on September 10-12.

EAM co-chaired the first Ministerial Meeting of the Committee on Political, Security, Social, and Cultural Cooperation (PSSC), which was organized as part of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council, with Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Prince Al Saud.The two ministers conducted a comprehensive analysis of the entire bilateral relationship and discussed progress under the PSSC Committee's four Joint Working Groups.Both ministers assessed the progress in bilateral relations in all directions, including political, trade, industry, transportation, infrastructure, and culture.Several areas of mutual concern were identified for further strengthening bilateral cooperation, including food security, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, defense, and entertainment.EAM met with other Saudi dignitaries during the visit and discussed how to improve bilateral relations.

The protocol calls for the institutionalization of an annual dialogue between India and the GCC and the establishment of Working Groups on various aspects of cooperation.
