Islamabad (Pakistan), August 6: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khans Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (Pakistan) Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf filed a petition before the Islamabad High Court on Saturday asking that the court suspend the election schedule for nine National Assembly (NA) seats.The petition said that the PTI's main petition for the acceptance of all party MNA resignations was still pending adjudication before the IHC, and that the schedule was inserted after the court learned of the previous petition's request, which said that it would result in irreparable damage to the PTI and derail the petition's purpose.The Election Commission reported on Friday that the by-elections for nine National Assembly seats would be held on September 25.Following Imran Khan's removal from office as Prime Minister, the ECP accepted 11 out of the 131 resignations submitted by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs on July 28, the Dawn reported.

According to ARY News, PTI MNA Murad Saeed was the first PTI MNA to resign to the Speaker of the National Assembly.Qasim Suri, the then-Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, approved the PTI MNAs' departures.
